And Justice For Some

The march toward autocracy continues. The recent indictment of James Comey is just another step. Masked men targeting people of color. National guard, wearing military gear, placed in “Blue”cities, without governors consent, most recently in Chicago and Portland, Oregon; The Don justifying these actions by claiming these cities are “hellscapes.” Firing of federal employees for no cause, particularly if their work has anything to do with D.E.I. Using the shutdown of the government as an excuser to fire as many civil servants as he can. Here’s The Don on what he plans to do:

“I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent,” T

He also fired Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve for some trumped up false charge of mortgage fraud (the Supreme court has just temporarily reinstated her.) Silencing free speech by going after people who criticize The Don and his administration’s policies. Case in point: canceling Jimmy Kimmel for a comment he made about Charlie Kirk (Thankfully, ABC reversed course, as did stations owned by the conservative media groups Nexstar and Sinclair; but that certainly doesn’t mean the end of these tactics.) Using the death of Charlie Kirk to rally a national response, outing anyone who made comments that weren’t adoring of Kirk. As a result, hundreds of people have lost jobs; others have been doxxed on social media. The Don has declared war against organizations that (non-profit left wing organizations) he deems as evil.

Here’s The Don after Kirk’s assassination:

“My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country,”

Just recently there has been an eruption over a Starbuck’s employee refusing to put Charlie Kirk on the coffee container. Starbuck’s policy is to remain apolitical and neutral when it comes to putting names on cups.

Let’s return to the Comey Case. This is a “nothing burger” witch-hunt. The indictment came despite the objections of career prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia, who had not found sufficient evidence to charge Comey. The Don actually fired Eric Siebert, a Trump loyalist because he refused to bring the case in front of a grand jury for lack of evidence. To get his way, The Don hired Lindsey Halligan, someone who has no experience as a prosecutor but is loyal to The Don.

The Don is also widening his scope of people he wants prosecuted. Along with Adam Schiff and Letitia James,  he now has his sights set on Fani Willis, who was the D.A. in the Georgia election interference case. Remember the Don’s plea to Secretary of State Raffenberger of “I just need 11, 780 votes”?

When asked about Comey’s eventual grand jury indictment, The Don replied: “It’s about justice, really. It’s not revenge.” This would be funny if it weren’t so serious as The Don has never cared about justice; revenge is his middle name.

On the other hand, we have the case of Border Czar, Tom Holman. Holman took $50,000 in a brown bag from an undercover F.B.I. agent posing as a the head of a security company, who Holman promised to get lucrative contracts when The Don became president. Turns out the White House has been covering this up and had the Department of Justice drop the case. I guess justice is just for some. Rumor has it that Holman had a half of sandwich left from lunch and put the sandwich in the bag of money; truly brown bagging it.

We are facing unprecedented attacks on our constitution, freedoms and equal justice under the law. when The Don pardoned convicted criminals involved in the attack on the Capitol on January 6th the dice were cast.

The Don is ferociously working to consolidate power. He has no interest in democratic protocols or the law. With the Project 2025 as his guide, The Don is manifesting the unitary theory of power that places all the power in the executive branch and neuters Congress. This feeds his grandiosity, allowing him to believe that he, and only he, makes or breaks the rules. He has the Supreme Court’s backing on this.

We return to an often used phrase, “That only he can fix it.” Not only isn’t he fixing it but he’s breaking it in a manner never witnessed before in this country. He sees our country as board game where he gets to control what comes up on a dice roll so he wins and everyone he disagrees with loses. The Don and his cronies are doing whatever they feel is necessary to  bring American democracy to its knees. They control the narrative where facts don’t matter.

Most terrifying was the recent speech he made in front of high ranking military officials.

Here’s The Don:

“I told Pete, we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.” Read that again very slowly. Do you feel the chills running down your spine? If you don’t, check your pulse.

“We’re going to straighten that out one by one, and this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room,” The Don told the generals, admirals and enlisted leaders, referring to what he has described as crime-filled urban hellscapes.

.The Don’s speech was so unraveled and tangential and so partisan that rumor has it that some one of the generals commented that he felt like he was in an episode of “South Park.”

“With leaders like we have right here in this beautiful room today, we will vanquish every danger and crush every threat to our freedom.” “It’s a war within.”

My fear is that The Don and Hegseth are preparing to use the military to oppress any opposition. In particular, they are hoping to use the military to instill fear so people won’t go to the polls. What better way is there too do that then have a miltary presence near where people vote. This is real. This is in their playbook. Our playbook has to be to push through the intimidation. Our democracy depends on it.
