So here we are. The Don’s capacity to create chaos seems limitless. His plummeting approval ratings seem to only increase his capacity to sow chaos as a means of distraction from his failed policies.
Finally, the shutdown has ended. I could rant and rave about how the Democrats squandered the power they gained by shutting down the government, fighting for healthcare, only to capitulate by agreeing to a deal that didn’t secure this. I would have preferred (like many) to hold firm, at least through Thanksgiving, where people would be enraged by chaotic travel and the anger of 40 million people who did not receive SNAP money would grow toward the administration.
I also understand that depriving children of money for food is cruel. When it comes down to it, the Republicans and their leader seem immune to cruelty; who knows if they would have ever given in about the Obamacare subsidies. Remember, it is called Obamacare and any and everything that mentions that name needs to be erased.
I still believe the Democrats scored an important victory. It’s not that the healthcare issue is going away, as everyday, millions of Americans are being notified that there will be significant increases in the cost of their premiums. Republicans will continue to be blamed for it; Democrats have to keep the pressure on, making sure everyone knows who’s to blame.
And guess who’s back? Jeffrey Epstein. Now that congress has returned, the petty and sniveling Mike Johnson had to swear in Adelita Grijalva. He had held her swearing-in hostage during the shutdown. As expected, as soon as she was sworn in she signed the document requiring the D.O.J. to release the Epstein files.
The Don is in a panic and even hauled Lauren Boebert into the White House. He met with her in the Situation Room of all places. Must have been some serious shit being discussed. That’s the place the generals and other cabinet members huddled together to create the plan to take out Osama Bin Laden. Seems like The Don chose this scenario to impress upon Boebert the seriousness of the task at hand, as if she were a threat to national security. Boebert declined to cooperate. Bam. Right between the eyes. I can only imagine the expletives flying out of The Don’s mouth. By the time he got to Truth Social all he had to say was that any Republicans voting for this were “stupid.” Sorry Don, sticks and stones will break their bones but calling them stupid, that’s so pathetic.
Thousands of emails were released by Epstein’s estate that were bad news for The Don. The tranche of emails was dizzying but for me, the only email you need to know about is the one where Epstein says that The Don “spent hours at my house” and that he “knew about the girls,”
Even if he didn’t have sexual encounters with the women Epstein provided (which I doubt), he never did anything about it. The story is that The Don broke off his relationship with Epstein in 2007, not because of what he was doing, but because Epstein was poaching some of his Mar-a-Lago female employees. The Don had no empathy for any of the women and children being trafficked. If he did, he would have reported Epstein to the authorities. He couldn’t because he would be implicated and connected to the enterprise in some way; he did not give one shit about any of the women and children whose lives were being destroyed by the heinous, demonic duo of Epstein and Maxwell. To this day, he has not addressed the victims and has no empathy for them. This is the point that should be made. It doesn’t matter if he had sex with anyone. He allowed a sex trafficking ring, including girls as young as 15, to operate with his knowledge!
The Don is desperate to cover it up, but the more he tries to cover it up the worse it will get. What makes this predicament different from so many others is that many of his MAGA supporters want the truth. Given that the MAGA conspiracy theorists on the right accuse Democrats of sex trafficking and pedophilia, the fact that it is happening in their own house is a bridge too far for them. Grabbing woman’s private parts (Hollywood Access tape), being convicted of rape in a civil suit wasn’t enough to violate MAGA voter’s sense of morality and decency, but pedophilia? Now we are talking.
Even Marjorie Taylor Greene has had enough:
“It’s astonishing, really, how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level. But really most Americans wish he would fight this hard to help the forgotten men and women of America who are going broke trying to feed their families, and are losing hope of ever achieving the American dream.”
The Don’s response was to break up with Marjorie and call her “whacky” and threaten to primary her. No news here as anyone who is disloyal becomes the subject of his ire, and is ripe for his vengeance.
It is possible that The Don’s Houdini-like powers of escape may finally be thwarted; but he will work hard to distract us. He is already doing this with his crazy talk of invading Venezuela. This is the old “Wag the Dog” strategy: start a war someplace to distract the country from its interest in revealing the truth about the Epstein files. He is also ordering the D.O.J. to investigate Democrats who are affiliated with Epstein, as of course, they are the real perpetrators and he has nothing to do with this hoax (it’s likely that some Democrats will also be exposed to have been involved with Epstein.)
Unlike capitulation on the shutdown, the Democrats see blood in the water and aren’t going to stop until all the facts come out. As I just stated, we know all the facts we need to know. The Don knew what was going on and did nothing. He protected a vile sexual trafficker. That should be enough to end his presidency. But the pressure and the facts will keep mounting: who knows what the breaking point will be?
The chaos continues on his tarrifs. He has finally begun to realize that his tariffs are not working out so well and has reversed them on many essential food products. He has finally been convinced that there is an affordability crisis of his own making. He is reeling and is desperate to get his footing.
Before he decided to reverse some of the tariffs and was still in a state of denial, he crowed about how wonderful the economy was because of the reduced Thanksgiving dinner at Walmart. He said that there was “no inflation, that gas prices were almost at $2, and grocery prices were way down.” To illustrate the point, he repeatedly pointed to a report from Walmart showing that the cost of a Thanksgiving meal would be 25% less than under President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
“2025 Thanksgiving dinner under Trump is 25% lower than 2024 Thanksgiving dinner under Biden, according to Walmart.” “My costs are lower than the Democrats on everything, especially oil and gas! So the Democrats “affordability” issue is DEAD! STOP LYING!!!”
Um, let’s look at the facts. The Walmart baskets this year differ significantly from other years. This year’s meal includes just 15 items compared to last year’s 29! It is missing many dessert items, including a pecan pie, mini marshmallows and muffin mix, as well as savory items such as sweet potatoes, yellow onions and celery stalks. No mini marshmallows? Game changer. No sweet potatoes? There is no Thanksgiving without sweet potatoes.
During all of this chaos and pain for the American people he adds insult to injury by focusing on building a 90,000 square foot ballroom after demolishing the East Wing of the White House and crowing about the main entrance to the new ballroom; he hosted a 1920’s gilded age party where opulence was showcased; he went to the Washington Commander’s football game (he was booed) and announced they should rename the team after him; On social media, Mr. Trump posted incessantly about the new Lincoln bathroom, remodeled in black and white marble with gold faucets and light fixtures, and on renovations at the Kennedy Center, which he said would be outfitted in marble and “magnificent high end carpeting.”
The majority of Americans also disapprove of his tactics on immigration. Something about sending in unknown masked people to sweep people off the streets doesn’t sit well with most Americans; nor does blowing up boats in the Caribbean. I’m beginning to think that the walls are closing in on him. More chaos and outrage will be the order of the day. The question is: will his madness sink the ship before lawmakers, who have been steadfast in their loyalty to him, jump ship? Will the backlash of the people finally prevail?
One last thought. Here’s my conspiracy theory: emails released suggest that Epstein was communicating with Putin’s people. Maybe Putin has the photos of The Don with the naked girls? Maybe that’s why The Don is his puppet. More intrigue at the palace, so stay tuned!
