Our country is a mess. We are still in a war we can’t end. People are struggling financially because of tariffs and the war. We have alienated many of our allies who have lost patience and soured on us. The Don’s weaponization of the D.O.J. gets more and more sinister with E. Jean Carrol as its latest target. With the The Don’s favorabilities in the toilet, the Republicans are doing everything they can to rig the mid-term elections, whether it be through gerrymandering (with the blessing of the Supremely Awful Court), the attempt to limit mail-in-voting or the threat of creating an army of poll intimidators. News organizations are under attack: CBS just fired Scott Pelly, one of Sixty Minutes highly respected and tenured journalists because of his criticism of management’s choice to oversee the show. and its increasingly lurch to the right. Corruption is like nothing we’ve ever seen. The push to an authoritarian state intensifies each day. As I said, it’s a mess and it’s dangerous. Even if we could stop the bleeding today, the damage to our democracy is significant and will take years to rebuild. And we have two and half more years of The Don to contend with.
The Don and his cronies are continually trying to turn reality on its head. The January 6th perpetrators are victims and heroes. The Democrats are stealing and rigging elections. Citizens must have smoked something to think gas price hikes are more than peanuts.
E. Jean Carroll, who won a civil lawsuit supporting her claim that The Don sexually assaulted her, is now the perpetrator. The monster once again uses his bully pulpit to exact revenge on the victim: First he rapes her and then he tries to ruin her. Welcome to the greatness of America where powerful men get to do whatever they want. Think Jeffrey Epstein!
All the while, The Don is obsessed with his projects. He is all in with his ballroom, the arch, the reflecting pool, the slush fund and annoyed that his fellow Americans are just not that into it. Why can’t they just stop paying attention to their growling bellies, lack of healthcare, inability to afford housing or worrying about losing their jobs to AI. I mean really, stop whining about such silly stuff when he is building such beautiful new things. Okay, he’s building them for his own legacy, so what? They are still beautiful.
It does feel that with his 80th Birthday and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the country upon us everything is lining up perfectly. Who better to preside over such a magnificent event. Full steam ahead.
The tragedy and irony is that he thinks his ideas elevate us when they demean us. The Don’s fear of humiliation, which propels his grandiosity, is allowing him to humiliate the country he wants to make great. With The Don, everything he touches plays out in a simple but highly incendiary dynamic: destroy or be destroyed
For a while, The Don hasn’t been getting the kind of admiration he deserves from the reflective pool of the American people, so he has decided to piss in it. We just don’t appreciate his greatness so fuck’em. The problems we face both domestically and internationally are just so, well, just so damn boring. (He actually said he was bored with the war with Iran!)
I don’t know about you, but I feel like we are on the Titanic barreling toward a humiliation the likes our country has never experienced. At least with the Titanic the iceberg wasn’t detectable; on this ship, the commander is saying “Hey, if I’m going down you are all going down with me and before that happens, I’m going to do anything and everything I want. I’m going to make billions doing dicey deals and playing the market based on how I manipulate it; I’m going to get gleeful pleasure from prosecuting my enemies; I’m going to put my name on whatever I want. Just watch me. That includes that beautiful commemorative $250 bill with my photo. Just look at me and watch me. And I’m going to throw myself and the country a party the likes of which they have never seen.
He plans to celebrate his birthday by creating an erector set construction of a giant UFC cage match. Masculine virility writ large. Symbolic bloodlust. What’s the message? And what an event. The Don will get to play a Roman Emperor, the masses screaming “Hail Caesar.” Let’s hope there aren’t any lions backstage to authenticate this travesty. Turns out that there is concern that not enough of our great citizens want to attend the event, so the military is rounding up soldiers to fill the empty chairs.
As far as his 250th jubilee celebration, the Don has been met with ridicule and rejection by most of the musical acts slated. After the lineup for the concerts was announced, the hip-hop artist Young MC said he would not perform, adding that “artists were never told about any political involvement with the event.” The funk-soul group the Commodores, the rock musician Bret Michaels and Morris Day and Time also canceled performances. Others cancelled as well. If this were the Barnum Bailey Circus there would be one hunchbacked clown and an old elephant ready to be put out to pasture.
The Don is in a tizzy about the lack of enthusiasm. In response to the rejection, he ranted, calling himself “the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World” and “the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime. In fact, “he should take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists.’”
And then he really went off the rails:
We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain. Cancel it, just like I canceled my involvement with the failing and unsafe to be in Kennedy Center, because a Highly Conflicted, Crooked Federal Judge, said that I should not be allowed to spend my time and money in order to MAKE THE CENTER GREAT AGAIN, actually, far greater than it ever was before! It would have also been nice to see a Republican/Democrat union bring it back to life. The Kennedy Center is broken, unsafe, and $busted, and has been for many years! Judge Cooper also stated that the highly prestigious Board of the Center was not authorized to add on the name “TRUMP” despite the fact that hundreds of millions of dollars of my time and money will be necessary for its successful reincarnation. So now, the Kennedy Center will collapse, both structurally and financially. Judge Cooper and his wife, Amy Jeffress (obfuscation anyone?), should be ashamed of themselves. Judge Cooper, like numerous other Crooked Judges on my cases, should be IMPEACHED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP
